On Our Outside Ice Skating Event in Our Town Centre
We get harsh winters which can last close to 5 months. During the coldest months, the local council quite literally turn our town square into an outdoor skating rink. It’s a great place to get some exercise and meet people. Anyway, they held an “opera on ice” a few nights ago. I was impressed that they could find people who could both skate and sing at the same time – you need incredible stamina for that. The event lighting created a great atmosphere also, and the fact that there wasn’t a breath of wind mean their voices carried perfectly to the audience encompassing the ice rink.
